The South Brisbane Sailing Club is excited to announce that on Saturday the 27th of September we will be hosting the first RiverSails Regatta, the premier event of its upcoming season.
Born out of a love of the river we sail on and her rich history with the sport, RiverSails aims to grow into a yearly celebration of river sailing and the broader South-East Qld sailing community.
Racing will be held on either its Milton or St Lucia course, with a series of prizes and four divisions in competition.
Awards
- The Regatta Cup – Fastest boat of the regatta on handicap
- Women’s Champion – Fastest female crew on handicap
First, second and third place for the following divisions
- Division 1 – Classes with yardstick LESS than or equal to 110 e.g. NS14, Tasar, RS100
- Divsion 2 – Classes with yardstick greater than 110 but LESS than or equal to 127 e.g. 125, impulse and all laser rigs
- Division 3 – Classes with yardstick greater than 127 e.g. Heron, Flying 11, Pacer
- Junior Division – Classes as listed with crews under 16yrs: Sabot, Optimist, Open Skiff (Bic)
On behalf of all South Brisbane members, we want to extend their invitation to all sailors of the South-East to join us for what promises to be a spectacular event celebrating sailing on our river. Registrations are open now, though be sure to get in quick as unfortunately we’ve been forced to limit registrations.
