** HERON MASTER (TOP TIER) REGISTRATION **

2026 Qld Heron State Championship

Sat 2 May and Sun 3 May 2026

MASTER (TOP TIER) ELIGIBILITY

• Any heron sailor who has placed 10th or higher in previous National Championships

NOVICE ELIGIBILITY

• Open to any novice sailor who has sailed for 5 years or less
• Must also register in the Qld State Championships - Novice Sailing Division (i.e. both skipper and crew) 

PURPOSE

• To inspire and pass on expertise of Heron Master Sailors to Novice Sailors aspiring to improve their racing skills and love of the sport
• Novice entrants will also receive support and training during the championship heats on Sat 2 May and Sun 2 May 2026

TRAINING FEES (novice entrants only)

• $20 per novice entrant (to cover fuel costs etc)

DATE

• Friday 1 May 2026

TRAINING PROGRAM

• 9:30am - 10:00am - Arrive and setup boats
• 10:00am - 11:00am - Shore based briefing, rig adjustment
• 11:00am - 12:30pm - On-water training (Starts, Handling, Speed)
• 12:30pm - 1:00pm - Lunch
• 1:00pm - 1:30pm - Shore based briefing 
• 1:30pm - 3:00pm - On-water sprint races (Tactics, Strategy) 
• 3:00pm - Debrief
• 3:30pm - End of training
