Post 2025 RiverSails Regatta member survey: results

Following the inaugural SBSC RiverSails Regatta on Saturday 27 September 2025, a short survey was emailed to members seeking feedback on aspects of the event. The survey was emailed to members on 10 October 2025, with a one-week period during which responses would be accepted by Microsoft Forms.

The survey drew fewer responses than hoped: 11 – including six from participants in the regatta either as sailors (4) or volunteers (2). The remaining five responses were from people who did not take part in the regatta. 

Respondents were asked about how they accessed information about the regatta; whether or not their decision to participate was influenced by the timing of the event - in the school holidays and on the same day as the AFL Grand Final - and/or the race entry fee ($45). Respondents were also invited - in an open question - to make suggestions for future regattas.

Although the small number of respondents meant that strong conclusions could not be drawn, the results offer useful pointers for future planning. A report of the survey findings can be downloaded below.
